JR東日本初の振り子式特急車両として知られる、E351系の基本編成 5号車から12号車です。 主にスーパーあずさ号として、新宿～松本を最速2時間25分で結びました。 モデルとしたS5編成は、1996年にデビューし、2017年まで活躍しました。 付属編成と編成の向きを合わせるため、貫通顔を先頭にしています。
