Am 19. August ist es den Alliierten gelungen, nahezu die gesamte 7. Armee einzukesseln. Da von Norden her britische, kanadische und polnische Truppenverbände nachrücken, bietet sich der Able-Kompanie bei Chambois die Gelegenheit die Schlinge um den Hals der deutschen Einheiten enger zu ziehen.
