【架空】 為對標日本向英國訂購的金剛級。1912年末大清海軍也向法國訂購了兩艘無畏艦（計劃比金剛級多一艘然而當時大清並不知道日方計劃自行再建造三艘）該設計為法國現役的丹東級加大型，305毫米炮增加至6門，寬大的甲板原設計是配備8門240毫米副炮，但是大清海軍的定位是無畏艦加上為了方便補給而取消了所有副炮並在原來的位置增設了一層艙室擴充了居住性。 其航速比19節的原型丹東級有顯著上提升，達到了22節，裝甲防禦也比日本的金剛級更強，但其火炮在數量和威力 上相對落後。 一號艦於1915年末交付並命名「衡遠」，二號艦因一戰原因停工。
