HMS Marlborough
铁公爵级战列舰是英王乔治五世级战列舰（1911年起建造）的改进型，于1911年度预算批准建造计划，1912年开工建造。铁公爵级将原有的102毫米副炮全部换成152毫米副炮，为了对抗吨位日益增大以及火力增强的驱逐舰的威胁，采用6英寸口径副炮，全部安装在舰体前部艏楼中，这是外观上与猎户座级、乔治五世级最明显的区别。为了减轻结构重量、加强重点区域防护该级舰放弃了以往英国战列舰上安装的水密隔舱纵向隔板，水下防护成为隐患。铁公爵级战列舰因安装了新型通讯及火力控制系统大多作为英国海军战列舰分队的旗舰参加了日德兰海战。
