使用创意工坊的船体，将武备、船体修改为1945年的状态。 该舰是在众多投入到太平洋战争的旧日本海军（包括朝潮型驱逐舰、阳炎型驱逐舰及其改良型的夕云型驱逐舰，以及岛风共50艘新锐的舰队型驱逐舰）之中，唯一一艘从战前即已成军并残存至终战的甲型驱逐舰（乙型驱逐舰则有响、潮2艘）。由于旧日本海军的驱逐舰经常投入激战区，损耗率极高，而“雪风”不但参与过16次以上的作战并取得战果，且近乎丝毫无损的状态存留至战争结束，拥有着“不死鸟”“奇迹的驱逐舰”（奇跡の駆逐艦）等美称
