20世纪30年代后期，一家美国造船公司制定了一个混合型战列舰项目，准备开发供苏联海军使用。项目代号1058。其配备独特的飞行甲板供舰载机起降，并配备了四座三联装406毫米舰炮。然而该设计过于繁琐且成本过高。机库装甲又较为薄弱，在交战时易受重创，并不能很好的承担战列舰或是航母的责任。
