安德烈亚·多里亚号战列舰是意大利最后一批建造的旧式无畏舰之一。该级舰标准排水量23000吨，装备13门12英寸火炮，设计航速22节，装甲较为薄弱。安德烈亚·多里亚号1916年3月服役，并在1937-1940年进行了相当于重建的改造，主炮更换为10门320mm火炮，航速提高到27.5节。多里亚号的服役过程没有经历重大的战斗。1944年多里亚继续作为意大利舰艇服役，并和姊妹舰卡约·杜伊利奥轮流担任旗舰至1953年。两舰以训练舰身份在1956年退役。 本舰选取的是多里亚号1930年的状态。1926年该舰进行了小规模的改造，在左舷添加了一部水上飞机弹射器。
