自从1644甲申国难，崇祯帝煤山自尽，大明朝事实上已经灭亡。随后，李自成兵败山海关，满清裹挟关宁军入主北京，中国彻底进入群雄逐鹿的乱世。豫王刘嗣玄起于微末，在河南起兵抗清，逐鞑虏于山海关外，先后消灭大顺、大西政权，遂于西历1661年在开封登基称帝，国号为华夏，定都中原，开启华夏盛世。 时间跌跌撞撞进入19世纪，传统的天下观念已不适用于此时的东方，天下已从汉地扩大到南洋及周饶大陆。华夏沉疴深埋，表面上一派烈火烹油。人人都说天朝威服西夷，万邦来朝，但国内的有识之士已看出这盛世下的危机，变法迫在眉睫。东宁、兰芳、泰安、旧港、周饶、青丘的出路又在哪里呢？
