2001年、老朽化した485系の置き換えと681系の増備を目的に製造。 681系と共通する部分が多いが、車体をアルミニウム合金製とし、流線型先頭車の連結器を格納式から固定式に変更、灯具ガラス形状の変更などデザインが変化したほか、より快適な乗り心地を追求する様々な改良が施されています。 流線型特急列車をベースに、リニューアル前の旧塗装の姿を再現しました。 よかったら評価をお願いします！ ※実際の車両とは異なる部分がございます。
