京浜急行600形(3代目)は旧1000形の後継者量として1994年に開発されました。VVVFインバータ制御、ツイングルシートなどの新機軸が搭載され現在の京急の基礎を作りました。車体更新の際にロングシート化されたましたが、現在も直通運用から線内の普通まで幅広く活躍しています。
