413系は国鉄末期の1986年より登場した形式で、老朽化した急行型電車の機器を流用しつつ車体を新しく製造している。新北陸色はJR西日本発足後に登場した塗装で、オイスターホワイトの車体にライトコバルトブルーの帯が巻かれている。北陸新幹線金沢開業後もあいの風とやま鉄道に一部編成が譲渡されJR時代と同じカラーリングのまま活躍した。
