- Community AnnouncementsEvoLife v0.10
- Community AnnouncementsEvoLife v0.9.11Fixes a bug where a biomaterial would connect to a cell, even when that connection should not be possible according to the biomaterial ruleset. Thank you "Meow?" for reporting the issue with clearly defined reproduction steps!
- Community AnnouncementsEvoLife v0.9.10Added visualizations for cell-created connection origins Fixed an organelle gui bug that occurred when viewing multiple cell infos simultaneously Fixed a bug where connection organelles have not cleaned up after themselves after being overwritten (thank you tbagdatortoise for the report!)
- Community AnnouncementsEvoLife v0.9.9EvoLife v0.9.9 is here, I updated the savefile list window to provide more info about the savefiles! The use case: You create a world, set it to fast forward, with autosave enabled. You leave it running for days, weeks, and now you have a lot of savefiles. You use the savefile list to visualize the sequence and start your evolutionary microbiology archeology journey, discovering what evolution...
- Community AnnouncementsEvoLife v0.9.8Faster saving (new saves use the multi-threaded zstd algorithm instead of deflate) More world gen options (offsets, rock sprays), in preparation for the seasons feature Evolving now has a chance to duplicate a DNA piece from an existing one then modify it randomly, suggested here Fix siphon organelle generating infinite energy out of nothing Fix mass delete tool deleting world border
- Community AnnouncementsEvoLife v0.9.7Fixing issue where the game would hang for 1-2 seconds clicking on the "open world" tab when you have a lot of Steam Workshop items downloaded Fluid wall hole plugger implemented, during world generation fluid wall holes in rocks that can be plugged adding one fluid wall cell will be plugged. Does not work when plugging requires 2 or more fluid wall cells.

- RC cellsRemote controlled cells test world. Control two species directly, one with D-Pad 1 (default I-J-K-L), one with D-Pad 2 (default T-F-G-H).574 downloads

- Diverse Thermal VentThis is a highly diverse run of over 60 million steps featuring a thermal vent in the middle and destroyers top and bottom. It has some multicellular organisms such as the red biofilm in the one screenshot. Parameters are fairly vanilla except gravity is about half normal, and cells are prohibite...155 downloads
- Long running world evolutionA long running world, with autosave enabled. Perfect for exploring the savegame list feature and getting a deeper understanding of evolution. The first save is from 2025 February 15, the last one is from 2025 March 4. The simulation was run for 201 298 464 steps.99 downloads
- XL_RagingRivers r02This is the same setup as XL_RagingRivers but with some parameter tweaks. It shows a very nice variety of biofilms, multicellular, and single cell forms. Among the tweaks, fluid tau was lowered to .5 (this parameter is related to what we think of as viscosity). Simulation behavior can be rather s...98 downloads
- XL_RagingRiversThe original terrain was heavily modified to create strong currents in two main channels from left to right. There are cell destroyers on the right. As usual for my setups, HP and Energy Requirements to divide have been increased. Gravity has been cut to about half of normal and amount of energy...40 downloads
- Two RiversTwo strong rivers flow in opposing directions here, creating quite violent currents that course through the caverns in the middle. Pockets of stagnant water shelter from the rapids, promoting a diverse ecosystem... Hopefully. I have yet to actually get anything usable out of this, even with gigab...37 downloads
- Fission Extinction EventThe state of this world is the result of a bug preventing viable cell mutation, thereby facilitating extreme overpopulation by two highly aggressive species. After resolving the issue, one of these species developed a mutation that allowed each cell to execute the fission operation numerous times...34 downloads
- WhirlpoolA mesmerizing dual whirlpool of evolutionary goodness. Slightly tweaked stats to allow for a decent success rate in zero-g. Cells LOVE to create a cancerous biomass overtime to plug the outer whirlpool and then just sit in its clutches feeding, but hey, that's something, right? Oh, for stability...33 downloads
- XL_100000MaxAgeThis simulation was run with a very long cell max age of 100,000 sim steps. Other changes from default parameters include setting biomaterial conn chance to .25 (down from the normal .5). This made biomaterials less likely to adhere to other biomaterials as well as living cells, dead cells, rocks...31 downloads
- Fluid Sink BugThis file illustrates the fluid sink bug. An example fluid sink that is behaving improperly is at the bottom right of the save. For me I can easily duplicate the bug with this save by placing a fluid sink just about anywhere. NOTE: This has now been fixed in v0.8.6.28 downloads
- Proto-Sponge EvolutionEvoLife v0.10 Seasons23 downloads
- XL_HydrothermalVentsThis is an XL size simulation with a little over 30 million steps. It features a number of natural looking hydrothermal vents. It again has both multicellular organisms and a fairly diverse population. A number of parameters have been changed including lowered gravity, minimum requirements for en...23 downloads
- Coral SlopesHey, where'd all the water go?! What the heck! How am I supposed to evolve and be a swanky fweesh if I ain't gots no watur?! Oh? Wait, what's this? Gravity? Inertia? Huh? Huh... I can make this work... I'm working on a much larger variant of this concept since I realized a small world was way too...19 downloads

Why EvoLife mods break
A mod is compiled against one version of a game. When the game updates, anything that reached into the parts that moved stops working, and it usually stops working silently rather than with a message that explains itself.
That is what the table above counts. It is not a guess: each row is a mod the community has reported as broken by that specific release. The number is a fair measure of how disruptive an update was, and it is the reason people delay updating a game they have modded heavily.
Common questions
Does IndexGG host EvoLife mods?
No, and it never will. Every download link points at the author's own page on Nexus, GitHub, CurseForge or wherever they published it. We index the ecosystem; the files stay with the people who made them.
Where does the compatibility data come from?
From the communities that maintain it in the open, not from guesswork. Each claim carries how it is known, so a reported breakage is never presented as though the author said it.
Why is a mod listed as broken when it works for me?
Compatibility depends on your exact game version and the rest of your load order. A mod marked as broken in one release may work fine on an older one, which is exactly why the version is recorded next to the claim rather than a bare yes or no.
