双层巴士从上世纪80年代被第一次引入杭州起，就陪杭州市民度过了30多个春秋。双层巴士作为杭州公交车的一个组成部分，也是杭州的一个城市特色、城市细节，今年年初，杭州公交引进了首批6辆全新升级的红色双层巴士，车身主色是中国红，车体圆润可爱，形似红豆，红豆在中国文化当中又有祝福、相思之意，所以全新双巴的昵称就被取为【大红豆】。
