- Community AnnouncementsUPCOMING: The Destruction Update!Hi, operators! I got sidetracked again. Here's a long boring devlog about what's coming in the next update, coming sooner than you would think:Boring anecdote below. Skip past this section to see the new destruction system. My first introduction to mech games as a youngun was, oddly, MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf (unless you count a demo for A.M.O.K. that came free with PC Gamer). It never makes it o...
- Community AnnouncementsHotfix: 12 June 2026Thanks to the Russian (I think) demo player who submitted an anonymous error log, I've found that a loadout parsing issue was causing some players to get stuck in the hangar. This hotfix addresses that, as well as improving performance in Routine Maneouvres. Again, thank you to all players who submit error logs! Every time this happens I basically get immediately notified that there's a bug in...
- Community AnnouncementsChangelog 10 June 2026CHANGES - Squad loadouts now persist between career mode missions. - NPCs no longer have unlimited ammunition, except for certain basic weapons (this will change eventually). - Missile spam is now significantly reduced. - NPCs now treat the player as a navmesh obstacle, and will actively modify navigation paths to avoid collision. - Added missing preview images for legacy campaign missions. - S...
- Community AnnouncementsNon-VR Input System OverhaulHi again, Operators.Things are going at a fair old clip now, so updates will probably be more regular from here on out.In response to recent feedback and with the help of some dedicated volunteer playtesters, I've overhauled the input system used by OVRLRD to support alternative inputs. This means that if you've previously tried playing with HOTAS, keyboard, gamepad or anything else and found it...
- Community AnnouncementsChangelog 13 May 2026Fixed occlusion culling issue that caused many objects to flicker Beware new issue: visual error on snow layer that may cause flashing up in the mountains and on the 'overwatch' mission. This will be fixed soon. Another new issue: pressing F7 to open the cinematic camera in non-VR mode may switch you to VR mode when closing it (controls will not respond). Press F1, then F3, then F1 again to fix...
- Community AnnouncementsThe Do or Die Update - 22% discountUh oh, operators. It really has been a while this time. I'm gonna make this quick, because the changelog is pretty monstrous. Skip down for a tl;dr.OVRLRD started as a hobby project in evenings and weekends around my day job as a programmer. I really didn't think anyone else would care about it, but since releasing in Early Access more than 3,000 people have bought the game - some of you buying...

Why OVRLRD mods break
A mod is compiled against one version of a game. When the game updates, anything that reached into the parts that moved stops working, and it usually stops working silently rather than with a message that explains itself.
That is what the table above counts. It is not a guess: each row is a mod the community has reported as broken by that specific release. The number is a fair measure of how disruptive an update was, and it is the reason people delay updating a game they have modded heavily.
Common questions
Does IndexGG host OVRLRD mods?
No, and it never will. Every download link points at the author's own page on Nexus, GitHub, CurseForge or wherever they published it. We index the ecosystem; the files stay with the people who made them.
Where does the compatibility data come from?
From the communities that maintain it in the open, not from guesswork. Each claim carries how it is known, so a reported breakage is never presented as though the author said it.
Why is a mod listed as broken when it works for me?
Compatibility depends on your exact game version and the rest of your load order. A mod marked as broken in one release may work fine on an older one, which is exactly why the version is recorded next to the claim rather than a bare yes or no.
