Sicily landing Off the shores of Sicily, the sea was rough overnight on the 10th July 1943. But the Allied landing went ahead, and forces of the US 3rd Infantry Division headed for the beaches. Defenders from the 15th Panzergrenadier Division would be trying to stop them.
