Cadence
You've been playing games most of your life. You've been listening to music even longer. Wouldn't it be great if making music was as easy as playing a game? Cadence lets you draw shapes as music. Let your imagination run free with the PC's first music sandbox game.
Solve Problems. Make Music. Feel Nourished. Cadence is a minimalist puzzle game about solving circuits to create music. This is not a rhythm game, but a zen music sandbox that rewards curiosity and problem solving.

- Community AnnouncementsCadence is out now!Well folks! We finally did it! Cadence is now available for you to download - even after Steam bugs tried their best to derail us yesterday! The original plan was to release on Early Access way back in 2016! I spent a bit of time playing that build a few days ago, and it's crazy to reflect on. It had a lot of charm, but it also had so many glaring issues. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/11730967/5fd9b03c3f5...

Cadence will release at 9am GMT on the 12 of February, 2026 I woke up this morning excited to finally send Cadence out into the world, only to find out that release button was missing from the Steam backend. For reference I've had every check box and pre flight measure ticked for...

That's just 6 days away! Please enjoy the brand new Release Trailer: The road has taken 13 years! Sometimes the view has been brilliant, and at other times the climb has been very steep. For long stretches, it felt like we were simply broken down on the side of the road going nowhere...

- Community AnnouncementsSummer Update - We Have a Video Game! 🎉Cadence always had a smattering of levels, vaguely gesturing at how the final game might eventually play. But today, for the first time, that is no longer true: Cadence has a complete level campaign! I've been locked away adding late game content, and the now the total count is close to 60 levels. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/11730967/4acbe6bb76705f89608cccae61b0bb8be7fb67f6.gif This is a huge milestone!...
- Community AnnouncementsJune Dev UpdateHey everyone!Last month we participated in the Cerebral Puzzle Showcase on Steam, organised by my friends at Draknek & Friends. I was hopeful this would be a good fit for Cadence—getting in front of players who enjoy thoughtful puzzle games felt like a perfect fit for our niche. The Numbers GameWhat caught me off guard was the sheer scale: over 470 games participated in this festival. For contex...

Why Cadence mods break
A mod is compiled against one version of a game. When the game updates, anything that reached into the parts that moved stops working, and it usually stops working silently rather than with a message that explains itself.
That is what the table above counts. It is not a guess: each row is a mod the community has reported as broken by that specific release. The number is a fair measure of how disruptive an update was, and it is the reason people delay updating a game they have modded heavily.
Common questions
Does IndexGG host Cadence mods?
No, and it never will. Every download link points at the author's own page on Nexus, GitHub, CurseForge or wherever they published it. We index the ecosystem; the files stay with the people who made them.
Where does the compatibility data come from?
From the communities that maintain it in the open, not from guesswork. Each claim carries how it is known, so a reported breakage is never presented as though the author said it.
Why is a mod listed as broken when it works for me?
Compatibility depends on your exact game version and the rest of your load order. A mod marked as broken in one release may work fine on an older one, which is exactly why the version is recorded next to the claim rather than a bare yes or no.
